Wills & Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs)

Two in three people living in the UK don’t have a Will. Denial or lack of time is a fair reason, but ignoring the need for a Will leaves our wishes unwritten after we’re gone.*

Some are convinced they can live without a Will. Technically, they can. The problem presents itself after death, in the form of inheritance planning, nameless possessions and unspoken funeral wishes. If you own a house or have people who depend on you, a Will is crucial. Realising this is the simple part, but finding the right guidance for writing a Will can take time and trust.

This is why we’ve partnered up with Mogers Drewett, a team of solicitors who add a thoughtful touch to their legal expertise of Wills and LPA. It turns out we have plenty in common, because Mogers Drewett also values the importance of getting to know you. They’re not robots, so they understand that a subject as sensitive as death is daunting. Writing a Will can remind us of that fear, which is why the calm and careful perspective of Mogers Drewett is comforting.

Hold on, what is an LPA?

Should an accident or illness prevent you from carrying out your wishes, you can choose up to four people you trust to make these important decisions for you. In this case, attorney is not literal. It means passing on significant choices to those chosen people if you are not well enough to make them. Those choices may concern your health or your property.

Free health checks

Our partnership with Mogers Drewett means we can guide you in the right direction if you are seeking help with your Will. Mogers Drewett has kindly offered to provide association members with a free health check. Even if you have made a Will in the past, it might need amending if you have married or had children since. Your solicitor from Mogers Drewett will review your current circumstance, and observe how it compares to your wishes in the previous Will. Referred to as a health check, this allows your solicitor to establish whether or not that Will is still valid. They make sure it conforms to current statutory requirements for a valid Will or Lasting Power of Attorney.

As a bundle discount, Mogers Drewett will take 10% off fees if you decide to receive two or more of the individual services offered.
