New statistics from ABI (2018) show that medical expenses account for 52% of travel insurance claim costs, yet 1 in 5 people don’t arrange cover (ABI 2015).

 

Cover includes;

  • Choose between an Annual or Single trip policy
  • Emergency Medical expenses: choose from £5m up to £15m per person
  • Personal belongings: choose from £750 up to £3,000 per person
  • Cancellation or curtailment: choose from £1,500 up to £7,500 per person
  • Missed or delayed departure

Pre-existing medical conditions

ABI (2013) figures show that medical expenses and cancellations constitute to almost 89% of travel insurance claims. If you have a medical condition, depending on the nature, you may still be able to get cover through this facility. However, if you have any issues, then please contact us on 01823 250580, as we do have alternative solutions.

Elective travel insurance

As the appointed insurance broker for BMA members, we’re able to arrange insurance to protect you during your medical elective. We will arrange cover to fit the location and activities throughout this element of your studies.

You will not be covered if you book a trip or travel to a country or area against the advice of the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office or any other equivalent regulatory body.

Cover for cancellation costs and travel disruption due to COVID-19 and other catastrophes is not included if you are travelling to a destination against advice from the FCDO or any other equivalent government body.

If you have booked a package holiday (a combination of least two different types of travel services e.g. transport and accommodation), you may have some form of Financial Protection under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.
